The Global Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs) Congress is organized by UN-Habitat through the Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA).

The Congress is the foremost meeting place dedicated to water and sanitation operators’ within the UN system. It brings together operators, local and national governments, development partners and stakeholders to exchange knowledge, inspire action, mobilising support for WOPs, and strengthen capacity to achieve SDGs in particular on the universal access to water and sanitation.

The GWOPA flagship events was back into in-person meetings and hold also a virutal element for the interested stakeholders who could not attend in person. With over 500 in-person participants from 58 countries and over 1200 online participants, the participants represented 440 organizations and operators. The 2023 edition has been the biggest WOPs Congress in the series of this biannual event.
