This fact sheet showcases the water operators' partnership between Water Operators’ Partnership between OWMCP Suriname and WWN & WRIJ Netherlands. From 2008 to 2012, the WOP involved numerous technical visits to develop work on management capacity, design and communication.
This factsheet details the long-term WOP accompanied by signficant investments between FIBAG and VEI. Capacity development approaches involved exchange visits, study tours, formal and on-the-job training, workshops, coaching and joint planning. VEI placed a fulltime resident coordinator in Mozambique and sent teams of visiting experts.
This factsheet details the long-term WOP between MWAUWASA and Dunea, entailing exchange visits, staff surveys, training, coaching and demonstration. In addition to the two utilities, the WOP involved staff trade unions and a local film institute.
The WOP was a component of the Bulawayo Water and Sanitation Emergency Response (BOWSER) programme, a coordinated international effort following the 2008–2009 cholera outbreak. The WOP supported Bulawayo City Council with technical training and advice and implementing hygiene education campaigns.

BEWOP's operational tools were co-developed and tested with water professionals involved in the daily operations of water operators' partnerships (WOPs). The overall idea behind them is to facilitate the dialogue and sharing of experiences between experts involved in WOPs.
BEWOP Tool Series: Stakeholder Collaboration in Water Safety Plans. Operational Tool. Role-Play Game
One of the challenges in the implementation of Water Safety Plans (WSPs) is stakeholder engagement. For this reason, under the BEWOP initiative, IHE Delft Institute for Water Education has developed a role-playing game for practicing stakeholder collaboration in WSP. The game can be used in WSP training or during educational activities for water safety and WSP at a graduate and post-graduate level.
Non-revenue water reduction and management is a major challenge. It needs vision and commitment from management, contributions from many departments and intensive collaboration between employees. Also, the challenge to reduce non-revenue water includes technical, cultural and organizational changes. Usually, quick-wins can be achieved within 2-3 months but sustainable results can only be achieved after several years of efforts when structural changes are implemented.
