The project in Ulaanbaatar focuses on introducing sustainable water resource management,
Project main objectives
Objective 1: To improve the operational performance of USUG;
Objective 2: To strengthen the financial autonomy of USUG; and
Objective 3: To provide affordable and sustainable water services to the people within the context of sustainable water resources management and environmental protection.
Most significant results
The impact of the VEI-USUG partnership on USUG is the enhanced capacity to improve its operational efficiency. USUG staffs have been provided with the tools to be more efficient and effective in terms of training to do their jobs well with the proper equipment, operating manuals, systems and procedures, incentives, and conducive working environment. This has also enhanced their ability to attract investments.

The enhanced capacity of staff will improve the chances of USUG to be able to implement projects well.
