Project description
Project main objectives
The collaboration between SEDAPAL and Canal thanks to this WOP will favor the implementation of policies and measures that will help the beneficiary partner to improve and strengthen their processes and knowledge in the work areas that will be addressed during the project. The end users who will benefit from this WOP, beyond the SEDAPAL company itself, will be directly the health authorities by having an early warning tool to know the incidence of the virus in advance and to help them make decisions to stop the contagion of the coronavirus among the more than 9 million people who reside in the metropolitan area of Lima. Regarding the project to study the use of reclaimed water as well as the diagnosis to take advantage of waste derived from wastewater, it will have a direct and positive impact on the environment. Wastewater treatment plants have the potential to recover and transform waste and extract fuel, fuel, fertilizers, compost, reclaimed water or electrical and heat energy from it. Finally, thanks to the EBC program for the improvement of water services, Sedapal technicians have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the best practices and experiences of their counterparts in the main international operators involved in this meeting platform. In addition to learning from other companies, Sedapal, thanks to the reports generated in this exercise, can detect areas for improvement in its management by comparing its business indicators with those of the rest of the companies. This tool is also effective when it comes to sharing impressions about the implementation of the WOP project between Canal and Sedapal with the rest of the program participants, thus favoring the participation of other operators in the defined areas.
