Project description
One of the aims of this WOP is to share in knoledge in Non Revenue Water (NRW) management
Project main objectives
I Improve the PDAM leak control policy through

II. Evaluate the ageing of the installed meters and its impact on NRW
Most significant results
As a result of the work carried out under the WOP, the NRW in the working area has decreased from 38% to 22% after the detection of 5 leaks by means of acoustic devices and their subsequent repair.
This has meant 16% saving of supplied water.
The have realised that the pipes of the other area under control was very old and have to be renew.
The replacement of class B meters by class C meters has led to increase the invoicing of the local water utility (PDMA) by 10.65%.
The reason of such increase is that small water flow rates really consumed by the clients are now being measured whilst the old meters couldn't register them.
