The Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Call for Proposals for the second phase of the EU Water Operators’ Partnerships (EU-WOP) Programme. The programme – managed by GWOPA and funded by the European Union –aims to strengthen public water and sanitation utilities through peer-to-peer cooperation.
Building on the achievements of its first phase, EU-WOP 2 will run until 2030 and support:
- 15–20 new Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs)
- The expansion or scaling up of successful Phase 1 partnerships
- A stronger focus on digitalization, investment linkages and the application of human rights frameworks to drive sustainable service improvements
The programme will continue to foster not-for-profit, solidarity-based partnerships between water and sanitation operators, enabling them to develop and apply capacity for lasting performance improvements and more inclusive service delivery.
Utilities in eligible countries that are committed to enhancing their services and supporting peer utilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The application portal is now open for registration and further information.
Detailed information on the application process, eligibility criteria and country list is available in the
