GWOPA Annual Report 2024

UN-Habitat’s 2024 Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance Annual Report highlights global efforts to strengthen public water and sanitation utilities through solidarity-based peer support. The report showcases how Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs) are helping utilities deliver better, more inclusive services – advancing sustainable urbanization and the human right to water and sanitation.Framed around the urgency of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6, the report presents progress made in 2024 across four outcomes: advocacy for WOPs, knowledge co-creation, impactful programme implementation, and nurturing a global peer network. The report reflects GWOPA’s growing relevance in tackling climate, equity and service delivery challenges.Marking GWOPA’s 15th anniversary and the launch of the second phase of the EU-WOP Programme, the report affirms the power of public utilities working together to drive systems change and build resilient communities.The report calls on all partners to scale up peer-to-peer cooperation for a more just, sustainable and water-secure future.
