Project description
The aim of this WOP is to improve drinking water supply by increasing availability and reducing climate change effects
Project main objectives
This projects aims at increasing sustainable water supply to 130.000 people and specifically to 25.000 poor people. It also aims to contribute to economic development in the Mekong Delta. Specific objectives are the following:

1) Achieving climate change preparedness for water companies and in industry.
2) Achieving water supply financial sustainability through improving operational efficiency (non-revenue water reduction to supply 178.000 people).
3) Move away from ground water use towards surface water as a source of raw water by the construction of a new Water Treatment Plant which can at least supply 80.000 people.
4) Improve water supply to the urban poor by extension of the network and creating new household connections for 130.000 people including 25.000 poor people.
5) Reduction of the water footprint of industries in the Mekong Delta.
