Project description
WaterLinks, with support from USAID through the WaterLinks Alliance activity, proposes to facilitate a WOP between PBAPP and Tirta Kencana focusing on improving water distribution system in Samarinda (Indonesia). PBAPP from Malaysia is highly recognized in the region by its excellent water supply distribution network with the lowest NRW rate in the nation. Expected to last between 12-15 months, this WOP will help build the capacity of Tirta Kencana to manage NRW and pressure, enable continuous water supply, and recognize practical innovations and technologies employed by PBAPP. WaterLinks proposes the WOP to benefit at least 12,000 customers.
Project main objectives
The principle objectives of the proposed WOP are to build capacity of Tirta Kencana to
ensure improved water supply provision (e.g. continuity) for at least 12,000 customers
through better water distribution operations and management, transfer practical knowledge in
improving water distribution including NRW reduction, pressure management, network
analysis, and other pertinent focus areas, Promote replication of innovations introduced
through the WOP for other interested water companies in coordination with PERPAMSI and
build PERPAMSI capacity to WOP development and implementation for national replication.
